things are getting ugly in oakland. it looks more like a warzone than a peaceful protest. if the cops want to use military tactics on U.S. citizens demonstrating their rights under the first amendment, the outcome is bound to be terrible for them. the cops are outnumbered by protesters who they are supposed to be protecting and the last thing they should be looking to do is to turn the crowd into a mob. people are clearly passionate about the issues at hand and getting violent with them will not get them to be quiet even worse, it may make them violent in return. it may get them off the streets for the night but they will be back tomorrow and stronger. the amount of police brutality documented during these protests is appalling. fuck dirty cops. occupy everywhere.
